Neglected tropical diseases are a large and diverse group of diseases that disproportionately affect health and livelihood of the poor in the developing world. Dr. Conor Caffrey clearly describes the unmet needs for an effective early diagnosis and treatment of Schistosomiasis, a neglected disease that results in children missing school and adults missing work. Dr. Caffrey is developing a low-cost diagnostics and therapies to help.
